Replace Any BBQ Grill With Ceramic Tiles
Using Ceramic BBQ Grill Tiles is easy with any barbecue and is much more effective than the lava rocks and smaller briquettes we see more often. Ceramic radiant tiles are also more effective and flavorful than metal heat shields because the radiant heat is higher and the ability to pass heat around and through the radiant tiles creates a more even distribution of temperature at the grilling grates.
Ceramic Grill Tiles sit flat on briquette grate to absorb and radiate heat. The tiles force heat rising from the burner flames to move through the barbecue area changing Intensity as some heat flows through the holes and some heat moves laterally around the tiles. Conduction layers like this are common in appliances that may otherwise have hot and cold spots because of the burner placement.
Heat not only moves through and around the ceramic tiles but the material itself absorbs and radiates heat so the temperature is greater at the grill grates just above the tiles. Allowing a slightly longer warm-up period will raise the temperature exponentially as the heat radiates from the ceramic and adds to the hot air trapped inside the closed BBQ hood.
